Trina Chevonne Newman-Townsend was born September 3, 1960, in Los Angeles, CA. To the parents of Bobby Ray Newman Sr. and Myrtis Wray Thomas. Trina was from a large family. She had 18 siblings and was the 4th child born. Trina had 5 sisters and 11 brothers.
Trina accepted the most high God at an early age, and through Christ, she developed her own relationship with him.
She attended Wadsworth Elementary School, where she graduated in 1972. Later, Trina attended Louis Pasteur, then Audubon Jr. High Middle School, where she graduated in 1975. Trina attended Manual Arts High School and Thomas Jefferson High School, where she completed her high school education in 1978.
Trina played volleyball and softball and collected many trophies. She was the founder of the Wadsworth Elementary School drill team from 1976-1981. She also became a girl scout troop leader from 1990-1998, where every summer, she did a trip to Magic Mountain. Children and adults looked forward to those trips.
Trina attended Maxine Waters, where she received her CNA license. Later, she attended Los Angeles Trade-Tech College, where she received multiple certificates, such as social work, business, and computer.
Trina started her recovery in 2005 and remained clean for 17 years until the most high God called her home.
Trina had a heart as pure as gold and became a community activist and one of the most incredible supporters in the community. She was not only a great supporter of her community, but in all her local communities. She loved giving back to her community and had a tremendous love for all. Trina also became an evangelist in 2016. She prophesied to the people about their life and helped people overcome obstacles and return them back to the most high God.
Trina was a beautiful, phenomenal woman and will be missed in many ways for her nurturing, loving, and infectious smile, her resourceful knowledge, her understanding, and her not taking any mess.
Trina Newman- Townsend met the love of her life Curtis Townsend in 1976. Trina and Curtis rekindled in 2015. They became loving partners and got engaged and married in 2021 in Las Vegas. They became inseparable ever since.
Trina leaves behind to cherish her husband Curtis Townsend, son Vincent Anderson Jr. (Xaviera Anderson), daughter Callie Harvey (Derrick Pogues), 4 adopted daughters, Michelle Anderson Newman, Alana Thomas Newman, Heaven Thomas Newman, and Kaielyn Townsend Newman, ; 6 foster children, step children, Curtis Townsend Jr. (Keona Townsend), Kiana White (Charles White), niece/daughter, Terry (Derrick Lewis), special sons, Darion Turner and Rydell Mayfield, 18 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 15 siblings, Darryl (Ruthie Towns), Tonnette Newman, Dewayne (Sherrie Newman), Michael Newman, Elliott (Alberta Newman), David Newman, James Newman, Tonya Newman, Bobby (Vivian Newman), Robert Newman, Terry (Charles Lockett), Teresa Williams, Carl Caraballo, Talisa and Greg, 59 nieces and nephews, and 56 godchildren(too many to name), aunts, Josephine Childress Lafluer, Margaret (Ronnie Charles), Karen (Marshall Stackfield), Delores Smith, sister/cousin “original roll dog” Paula Coleman, best friend, Jeanette Phillips, Dale Hughes, Phillip Byrdsong, God brothers & sister’s Shadonna Brown, Darryl, Janice, and Ronald Cole, as well as a host of family and friends.

Trina knew thousands of people from the sandbox up until now. To name a few, Danny Parker, Donald Clark, Miranda Perkins, The Bias Family, The McDades Family, Darlene Smith, Nadine Curtis, and Vanessa Brown.
Trina helped people from 0-800. That’s just the warm and kindhearted person she was. She was indeed one of a kind.
