Kevin LaMonte Watson was born August 29, 1970, to Carol Ann Acklin Watson and Richard A. Watson Jr. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Richard Watson Jr. Kevin was raised in a Christian home where faith was the cornerstone of his upbringing. At an early age, he was baptized at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. Donald L. Parson. His early foundation in Christ helped shape the man he would become.
At the age of 12, Kevin and his mother, Carol, migrated to Gardena, California. In keeping with their church covenant, they united with Corinthian Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California, where the late Henry W. Johnson served as Pastor. Kevin continued to grow in faith, character, and purpose during these formative years.
After graduating from high school, Kevin answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy. For eight years, he served faithfully and honorably, demonstrating discipline, courage, and commitment.
Kevin was united in marriage to Tina Gee, and to this union two sons were born: Kenyon LaMonte and KeShaun Lloyd. Although Kevin and Tina's marriage was not long lived, he remained proud of and devoted to his sons, who he cherished deeply.
Reestablishing himself in his later years, Kevin met Yvette Williams. They started a loving partnership for 15 years, building a life together alongside his sons and her family. Their bond was one of companionship, support and enduring affection.
Kevin will be remembered for his resilience, quiet strength, and deep love for his family. He valued loyalty, faith, and perseverance, and he carried himself with dignity through life's challenges and triumphs.
On Sunday, February 7, 2026, our Heavenly Father called Kevin home from labor to reward. Though we grieve his passing, we rejoice in knowing that he rests in eternal peace.
Kevin leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Carol A. Watson; his two sons, Kenyon LaMonte and KeShaun Lloyd; his devoted life partner, Yvette Williams; his Godmother, Jerrylean Terry; his aunts and uncle; and a host of cousins, extended family and dear friends.
His life, love and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
