Obituary

Darius Krishawn Rodgers was born on March 19, 2003, in Los Angeles, California, to Alaysia Herrington and Bobby-Tee Rodgers Sr. From the very beginning, Darius embodied a quiet strength, a thoughtful spirit, and a heart that connected deeply with those around him.

Darius was educated within the Los Angeles Unified School District. He attended Hillcrest Elementary School and local middle schools in the South Los Angeles area, later continuing his education at William Johnson Community Day School. Through resilience and determination, he proudly earned his high school diploma on June 2, 2022.

On June 5, 2022, Darius accepted his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, through baptism at Beulah Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California. His faith became a meaningful part of his journey.

Darius was known for his hands-on nature and curious mind. He had a gift for fixing things, often spending time tinkering around the house and finding ways to make things work again. He also had a deep love for music, especially the soulful sound of Rod Wave, whose songs resonated with him on a personal level.

Among his most cherished qualities were his humor, his dance moves, and his unique way of thinking. Darius enjoyed deep, analytical conversations and often asked thought-provoking questions that revealed his perspective on life. Those closest to him understood that behind his quiet demeanor was a mind that never stopped exploring.

On March 26, 2026, Darius was heaven bound, leaving behind a family and community who feel the profound loss of a life taken far too soon. The passing of someone so young carries a weight beyond words, and his absence is deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

Darius was a loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, and friend whose presence brought meaning, warmth, and connection to his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Alaysia Herrington and Bobby-Tee Rodgers Sr.; his grandparents, Carolyn Craig Coleman, Otis Herrington, and David Coleman; and his paternal grandmother, Deloria Avant.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, T. Rodgers.

He is also survived by his siblings: Darien Rodgers, Bobby-Tee Rodgers Jr., Alex Barrios, AJ Herrington, Eddee Flores, Nemiaya Butler, Jermaine Herrington, Knowledge Herrington, Dejanee Rodgers, Natejai Miller, Harper Johnson, Kae’loria Rodgers, Kalayia Rodgers, Mahaelani Herrington, and Martha Barrios; along with a host of extended family members and loved ones who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Darius will be remembered for his quiet strength, thoughtful nature, love for music, and the way he made people think, laugh, and feel seen. Though his time here was far too short, the impact of his life will continue to live on through the memories he created and the love he so freely gave.
